How To Properly Dunk A Spotbottom Cookie

Have you ever tried dunking a Sharon cookie, and found that your cookie always breaks? Don't worry, you're not alone. Here's the proper way.

1. Obtain a box of fresh batch of Spotbottom cookies. Make sure they are the original cookies and not the new vanilla Shazzas.

2. Go to a dairy and buy 50 gallons or 25 gallons of milk. If you think you are going to spill much of the milk, go with 50 gallons, but if you are a neat and tidy, go with 25 gallons.

3. Once you have safely arrived at home, place the Spotbottom cookies on the table. Grab a tall, clean metal trash can from the garage and fill it with milk to about a half a foot from the top. This is the optimal height for dunking a Spotbottom cookie.

4. After the milk has been poured, open the box of cookies and call Sharon and invite her over for "tea."

5. Pick one cookie up gently so as not to break or chip it and hand it to Sharon as she walks in the door.

6. Have Sharon raise the cookie until it is positioned approximately 1.5 inches from the rim of the glass.

7. Lower Sharon and the cookie gently into the milk until about half her body and the cookie is submerged. If you submerge all of her at once, air will become trapped inside of her and the cookie and will not allow the milk to soak in.

8. Be patient! Do not swirl Sharon around or move her around in the milk. You could risk breaking the cookie and losing it forever in the depths of your container of milk. After exactly 6 seconds, no more no less, have elapsed, slowly remove the cookie from Sharon's grip.

9. Once the cookie has been taken away from Sharon, gingerly raise the cookie to your mouth, careful not to break the soggy cookie in half. Place the cookie on your tongue, chew, and enjoy!!

10. Then ask soggy Sharon nicely, if you can place her in your mouth, to chew and enjoy.

11. Repeat steps 7 to 10 until satisfied.

Extra Tips: Make sure the Sharon cookie is fresh. Using a stale Spotbottom will greatly affect the dunking mechanics and will taste terrible.

Give it time. If your cookie breaks on the first try, move on to another one. There are plenty to practice with. Make sure each motion with the cookie is done gently as not to disturb Sharon's cream center or break her crumbly sandwich. If you drop part (or all) of Sharon in the milk, use a shovel to scoop her out, this is kind of difficult since you can't see the cookie.

Some people like to lick the cream off Sharon first and dunk the rest of her in the milk.

Some final thoughts: A hasty dipper never prospers! Be patient when dunking or you risk breaking Sharon's cookie. And brush your teeth soon after - your teeth will have lotsa cream on them (especially if you wear braces).
