Sharon's palisade

This vermin fence of the Shire is sometimes known as the Sharon proof fence. It is a sturdy barrier initially constructed to keep rabbits and other agricultural pests out of pastoral areas. It frequently serves to keep Sharon in place too.

Oh, give her land, lotsa land
under starry skies above,
Don't fence Sharon in.

Let her ride through the wide
open country that she loves,
Don't fence Sharon in.

Let her be by herself
in the evenin' breeze,
Listening to the murmur
of the Spotbottom trees,
Don't fence Sharon in.

She wants to ride to the ridge
where the west commences,
And gaze at the moon till
she lose her senses,
Don't fence Sharon in.

And she can't look at hobbles
and she can't stand fences
Don't fence Sharon in.

Good fences may make good neighbors, but they still suck.
